Charlotte Guest
- 1835: Married Sir Josiah John Guest, one of South Wales’s foremost ironmasters and the owner of the famous Dowlais ironworks.
- 1838: She started translating the 'Mabinogi' into English with the help of the poet, John Jones (Tegid), and historian, Thomas Price (Carnhuanawc).
- 1846: The 'Mabinogi' was published in 3 volumes, with Middle Welsh text.
- 1852: Sir John died. Charlotte took over the ironworks.
- 1853: Summer – A strike at the works; she had to deal with the workers and the ironmasters, who were unused to dealing with a powerful woman.
- 1877: The 'Mabinogi' was republished under a single title which is now famous as 'The Mabinogion'.
- 1855: April – Married Charles Schreiber, her son Ivor’s tutor; and started one of the world’s finest collections of 18th century English china.
- 1895: 15 January – She died at Canford Manor, Dorset.
