
- 1904: She enrolled at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. During her time as a student, she served as President of the Women’s Sectional Council in 1907-08 and President of the Students’ Representative Council.
- 1907: She graduated with a BSc in Chemistry.
- 1908: She gained a University of Wales Teaching Certificate.
- 1916: She completed a DSc in Psychology at Bedford College, London, and studied briefly at the University of Paris.
- 1918: She was appointed Lecturer in Education at the University of Manchester, serving as Dean of Education between 1923 and 1925.
- 1922: She stood as a parliamentary candidate for the University of Wales seat, one of 33 women candidates who stood in that year’s general election.
- 1923: She served as Dean of Education at the University of Manchester until 1925.
- 1932: The training departments for men and women teachers merged, and Wheeler became Head of the Department of Education in Cardiff.
- 1948: She was Dean of the Faculty of Education and established the Cardiff and District Educational Society and a collegiate centre on Cathedral Road.
- 1949: She was honoured with a DBE by the king.
- 1951: She retired, and from then on was Professor Emeritus of the University of Wales.
