  • Her parents were actors, acting at Brecon and on the Welsh border. Sarah had many brothers and sisters.
  • 1772: William Siddons joins the company.
  • 1773: Sarah married William Siddons in Coventry on 26 November.
  • 1775: She appears at Drury Lane for the first time.
  • 1766: She plays the part of Ariel in 'The Tempest'.
  • 1782: By this year, Sarah had 4 children and had established herself as the main actress at the Bath Theatre Company.
  • 1785: She played Lady Macbeth for the first time, which made her one of the most famous actresses of her time.
  • A number of artists painted portraits of her, such as Sir Thomas Laurence and George Romney.
  • 1812: She retired from acting after an emotional farewell speech during a play.
  • 1831: She died in London, and 5,000 people came to her funeral.
