Thomas Maldwyn Pryce is famous for being a racing driver.

  • 1961: At the age of 12, he told his parents he wanted to be a racing driver.
  • 1969: He starts racing at Mallory Park, Leicestershire, at 20 years old.
  • 1970: He won the Daily Express Crusader Championship for young drivers.
  • After winning the Crusader Championship, he left his farming career to concentrate on racing.
  • 1974: 12 May – His break into Formula 1 came when he signed for the Token team.
  • 1974: 26 May – He was refused entry to the Monaco Grand Prix so he competed and won the Formula 3 race instead.
  • 1974: 23 June – Pryce was offered a place with the Shadow Formula 1 team and made his debut in the Dutch Grand Prix.
  • 1977: 5 March – At the start of the South African Grand Prix, he collided with a fire marshal at 170mph, killing both men instantly.
  • 1996: The Tom Pryce Award is given annually to Welsh people or organisations who have made an outstanding contribution to transport.
  • 2007: A memorial was erected in his memory in Rhuthun.
