
- 1877: Born in Cemaes to a fishing family.
- 1894: Joins the Royal Navy at 16 years old.
- 1907: He was part of the crew of the merchant ship the 'Majestic'.
- 1912: 6 April – Joined the 'Titanic' as a crew member; she sank eight days later.
- Tom was responsible for lifeboat 8. The Countess of Rothes was on the lifeboat, and she helped Tom.
- Tom wanted to return to try and help more people. But only three people on the lifeboat wanted to do so.
- The Countess of Rothes sent Tom a watch to thank him for everything he had done, and he sent back a block of wood from the lifeboat with the number 8 on it.
- 1916: Married Clara Elizabeth Moulton. They had 3 children, Mary Ada, William Frank, and Ellen.
- After the sinking of the 'Titanic', he carried on working at sea.
- A plaque has been placed on Twm Titanic’s house in Cemaes.
‘Jones was in Southampton when the Titanic was preparing for her maiden voyage. He was shown around the ship and met one of his friends, an unidentified officer, who persuaded him to transfer, which he did.
